Renata Calixto
Over the 30 years of training in Psychology, Renata has dedicated herself to the clinical area, NGOs in education, and emergency care. Her training as a psychotherapist has undergone several specializations and in-depth studies in child development psychology, Jungian studies, body psychotherapy (neo-Reichian), and body in expressive vital movement. She has developed various social projects for children and adolescents and training for social educators under the guidance of the pedagogical theory of Paulo Freire, Pichon Riviere, among other authors. As a result of years of dedication to NGOs, she brings with her an "activist vein" of fighting against social inequalities in her country. For more than 5 years, she has been at the forefront of cases of post-traumatic stress, traumatic stress, and grief when providing emergency care to companies and financial institutions in São Paulo for cases of suicide, suicide attempts, violence, and robberies. In 2004, she became acquainted with the philosophy of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism. This marked the beginning of her journey among retreats, teachings, and meditative practices that continue to this day. Compassionate Inquiry comes at a time when the in-person clinical model no longer fits into her life. Willing to reformulate her professional management, she delves into self-reflection and adopts CI as the main approach to her clinical work. Nowadays, she is fully dedicated to psychological care, her journey heading towards being authentic both to herself and to all the people she serves. She considers herself to be experiencing her metanoia, in her best professional phase.
