Rennet Wong-Gates
Rennet has been a clinical therapist for over 18 years. She holds a Master of Social Work degree with a Dean’s Medal from the University of Toronto. She heads the clinical practice of Rennet Wong-Gates Psychotherapy and Social Work Services and is also a registered psychotherapist. Her past clinical experiences include community agencies, school boards, and the management of inpatient and outpatient programs at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Rennet currently lectures at University of Toronto Factor-Intenwash School of Social Work.
Rennet’s practice incorporates how lived experiences of marginalization and structural inequality are held in the body. To treat both loud and silent trauma Rennet uses Somatic Experiencing, Compassionate Inquiry, and other treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Structural Family Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. Her practice also offers EMDR for adults and children. Services are offered in person, teletherapy and video online.
