Course Creators

Dr. Gabor Maté is a retired physician, bestselling author, an internationally renowned speaker and the creator of the Compassionate Inquiry approach to psychotherapy.
Gabor evolved this therapeutic approach over 20 years of his personal journey, and from his work with patients in family practice, palliative care, and addiction. He developed his system further while facilitating integration workshops focused on healing trauma through the use of psychedelics.

Sat Dharam Kaur N.D. has supported Dr. Gabor Maté in structuring the Compassionate Inquiry approach and developing the online training.
Sat Dharam is a naturopathic doctor, teacher and author, who combines naturopathic medicine with Compassionate Inquiry, yoga, breathing practices and meditation to support others in healing and integrating mind, body and spirit.
“The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them ….”

If you wish to repeat the course after missing three sessions you will be able to do this at a discounted rate.

Course Withdrawal
Compassionate Inquiry Inc reserves the right to deny acceptance to a Compassionate Inquiry Circle applicant and to withdraw a participant from the Compassionate Inquiry Circle at any time if the Compassionate Inquiry Circle Leader or the admin team determine that a participant’s behaviour, attitude or views could negatively impact the quality of the Circle experience or group, or if the participant is not a good fit for the program. Compassionate Inquiry Inc, in its sole discretion, may terminate a participant’s participation at any time. If this should occur, Compassionate Inquiry Inc will refund the tuition paid for the training.
Circles Annual Membership
One of the gifts of group processes is the connections within a community which shares the same values and intention towards healing. Though we may live in different communities, the issues we navigate are similar. Feedback we received from you was that you valued the sense of belonging in the CI Circle, which we would like to facilitate further through creating a regular space where we can hold one another in compassion and understanding.
You are invited to join the membership when you have completed your participation in the Compassionate Inquiry Circles. By purchasing the membership, you will get access to CI Circles Monthly Follow-up Zoom Meetings. There will be 10 monthly two-hour sessions, beginning in January each year.
