Laura Farberman
I am Laura, a passionate and dedicated Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist based in Ontario. Over the past 20 years, I have been healing from and integrating my own experiences through energy and somatic techniques as well as spiritual psychotherapy. Compassionate Inquiry has allowed me to bring all of these tools together in my work with clients. My client's have been able to release themselves from patterns of anger, worry and guilt through healing and reconnecting with their true selves.
I offer compassionate and non-judgmental psychotherapy, providing individuals with a safe space for introspection and healing. My private practice reflects my commitment to helping others on their journey to emotional well-being and to living in their highest potentials.
Prior to opening my solo practice, I worked for 8 years at The Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto was focused on complex care and recovery for clients with chronic psychosis and concurrent disorders. Here, I conducted therapy, developed family programs, and conducted psychiatric assessments.
My educational background includes a Master of Social Work degree from Carleton University, and I hold certifications in Compassionate Inquiry and Family Therapy. My dedication extends to research, where I explored the benefits of yoga therapy for adolescents with depression while interning at The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
As a certified yoga therapist, I contribute to holistic well-being by offering yoga classes to individuals with mental health disorders in different non-profit organizations. My career represents my unwavering commitment to improving mental health through therapy, research, and holistic approaches in the field of social work and psychotherapy.
